Low flux:
Material greater than 8000 daltons cannot pass through membrane pores. Small molecules such as urea and muscle can pass through freely. The membrane pores are relatively small, resulting in relatively low ultrafiltration coefficients (usually < 10m/h.mmHg).
High flux:
Material greater than 8000 daltons can pass through membrane pores. B2-microglobulin filtration coefficient of high-efficiency high-throughput dialyzer & GT; 0.6. The membrane pore is relatively large, so the ultrafiltration coefficient is usually gt; 20 m/h.mmHg
